      Security Settings

      Hi how can i tell whether or not my network is secure. On my wireless card i have never picked up any unsecured devices so does this men it is secure?

      Are you using WEP or WPA encryption on your network? When you first connected to the router wirelessly it should have asked for the Network Key that is printed on your card, if you have had to type this in then your wireless network is secured.

      yeah it did prompt me for a network id when i first used it. Thanks for your help. On another note i never seem to find any networks apart from mine but thats go t nothing to do with sky.

      Depends on if anyone in your area is using a wireless router and has the SSID broadcast switched on. If you really want to know if you are secured then you could look in the router settings page, go into the wireless page and see if you are using WPA or WEP encrytion, as long as you are using one of these then you are secure (to a point) obviously if encryption is not on then you are not secure at all.
