      Exclamation New Router Help (asdl)

i have bought a new belkin router yesterday and, it does not connect to the internet. i was using the one which sky had provided for us before, but the range was not big enough for the house, so we bought a new one, and the asdl line keeps flashing, meaning there is a problem.
during the setup it asks for my sky username and password, i cant think of what i have done wrong, and help would be appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE

^^^ Have you extracted your Sky username and password from your Sky router? You can only do this if you have one of the Netgear white ones. If you have a black Sky router then you cannot currently extract these so you HAVE to use the Sky router as per their T & C's.

      Re: New Router Help (asdl)

^^^ Your My Sky username and password is totally different from your ADSL username and password which is embedded in your Sky Router and is needed to connect to the Sky broadband network.

Sky's terms and conditions say that you have to use their router, which is why they hide the ADSL username and password this way. It is possible to extract them from the white Netgear Sky router, but not yet from the new black ones. There are further details here

what you can do though is use your new router as a wireless gateway (meaning that the connection is with the Sky one and the wireless is accessed with the other one)
