Using an ethernet cable instead of the wireless has successfully avoided the problem. That suggests ****ty router . I say that because my wireless card has never caused me any grief before and my flatmate is also having problems with her wireless connection. For some wireless though, another flatmate has a mac laptop, it works fine. So Sky wireless is a bit hit and miss at best :/

Hi, must agree with you on the "faulty router".
My white netgear died this week. Contacted customer service (praise here, they answered the phone quite quickly). Said they would send out another router which arrived this morning (another white one, took 3 days to arrive ).
Now have been trying all the suggetions, but the wireless side just drops out. My old white one didn't!

EDIT. Tried somthing else, as I couldn't seem to use the WPA-PSK security option (anyone know why?), I used the WEP, but being lazy only used 64 bit, just reset and used the 128 option and the wireless hasn't dissconected (yet)?

      Wrong. still dissconnects!

Latest info. After my “white” router died I called Customer services, who answered quickly. They sent out another “white” router. The wireless side would drop every few minutes. Got back onto customer service, again answered quickly. I explained the problem, I was asked a couple of questions , when I explained that there was a BT router around me somewhere that was unsecured and I could log ono that no problem without dropping connection, they said they would send out another router. It arrived yesterday “black one this time”. It’s been fine since, I have been on the wireless side for a few hours with no problem.
