      any experts???

      ive got a belkin f5d8633-4 and am trying to connect to my sky broadband. everytime i try to complete the setup cd it fails saying i havent given the right details. ive used the tool to extract my username and password but still no luck. is it better to setup the connection manually? i dont have a clue what to do as im a novice in this area. any ideas?

      im using a new router cos the netgear isnt good enough for my surroundings.

      I think you received bad advice from Pc World. If your house is old with thick walls, the Belkin will not be much better than the Netgear. You would have been better going for either a wireless repeater or one of the Powerline products, which works on electric wiring circuits.

      But, back to your present problem. By what you have said in this forum in other threads and on other forums, you seem to have the basics correct. I am fairly sure you are not entering the username and password correctly. I am deducing this from one of your other threads which said something like 'your ISP is not accepting your log in'. Try copying and pasting these in, instead of typing them. Both consist of a mixture of letters and numbers and it is easy to mix them up.

      When you eventually get it fixed and if there is not a lot of improvement, it may be possible to use one of your routers as a repeater, to extend the range.
