Re: Please Help Me Connect My Nintendo wii

So am I correct in saying it is possible to wirelessly network a Nintendo Wii to a Sky router?

I'm thinking of getting one for the kids and want to be able to connect to the internet.

Re: Please Help Me Connect My Nintendo wii

@ Mr Smee - I can confirm that the Wii can be connected wirelessly.

I have a Wii and it's very easy to connect and it works brilliantly. You can even download a web browser for the Wii which can view nearly everything with ease (the only thing you cannot load is websites that contain Java) although it can be awkward to use with the Wii Remote but apart from that it is great!

The Wii can also download the latest local and worldwide weather and news which you can view

@ Captain Carling - What is it that you cannot do? Hang on let me look how you get it all connected.

@ Mr Smee - Yep works fine with WPA encryption

@ Captain Carling - This is what you do to get your Wii connected
      Turn on your Wii
Click on the Wii logo in the bottom left corner
      Click on Wii settings
      Go to the 2nd Page
      Click on the internet tab
      Click on connection settings
      Click on connection 1
      Click on Wireless connection
Click on Search For Access Point
      Click OK
Click on your router name (if it appears)
Input your router WPA password - click OK
      Click OK again
Click OK again again (lol) to test your connection

And there you have it Good Luck!

Cheers Cube. To wander off topic slightly...does the Wii come with a SCART lead? I can only find conflicting reports (sorry Captain, I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I hope you get your Wii online soon!).

Re: Please Help Me Connect My Nintendo wii

It's really easy to set up your wii for the internet, just follow Cube's guidance. Make sure you have your wireless access points enabled on your router - I'd turned mine off ages ago, and spent a good few hours pulling my hair out until I remembered what I'd done.
