I can connect to the internet using ethernet cable, but when I try on the laptop wireless i get a yellow triangle saying limited or no connectivity. I have tried disabling security but no joy.

      Re: Limited Or No Connectivity

What I would do is set the ip address manually

Go to Start ---> Control Panel ---> Network and Internet connections

Right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties
      A new window will appear
Now look for Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) left click then select properties

A new screen will appear "Obtain IP address automatcally" whill have a little circle on the left hand side
Select "use the following IP address"

      Ip address: 192.168.0.15
      Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
      Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

It will then ask in realation to DNS servers, select "Use the following DNS server addresses"

      Preferred DNS server : 192.168.0.1
      Alternate DNS server: 212.135.1.36

      Press OK

Now right click on wireless adapter choose
      "View available wireless networks"
      Select your network
      Select connect
      Type in WPA-PSK code

      Connected
      Try a website Google
      Should work

I have the same problem, although I am able to connect without encryption. I've tried manually entering the IP address as suggested above but still get 'limited or no connectivity'. When I try to repair, the reason given is that it is unable to renew my IP address. My line was only activated yesterday...could there be a problem with the Netgear router?

      Re: Limited Or No Connectivity

If you are able to connect without encryption then no it would not be a router issue, I would try WEP encryption set it to level 128 then copy and paste the key when you are prompted by it by Windows.

Lightbulb Re: Limited Or No Connectivity

      Hey,

I had the exact same problem but i found out that i had a virus on my laptop, which stopped me connecting to the internet; it was a trojan horse!
I also had Zonealarm firewall which had Truevector on it, which also stops you connecting to the internet, so now i just use windows firewall. You should get rid of any firewall and put windows firewall on and then scan using a virus program.

      Good luck!

      Hope it works!
