      Wireless not working anymore

Hiya, can anyone help? I have been using my Netgear Adaptor to connect to my Sky router for months, all of a sudden it wont connect, it recognises the router but is constantly "acquiring an IP address" but never gets one! Having to keep connecting to a neighbour on my wireless PC........

Has anything changed since you were last able to connect i.e. furniture, electrical equipment etc.?

Load your adaptor's install disc and uninstall the software - then re-install.
      If still no signal:

You may want to test if there is something interfering with the wireless signal between your router and your PC, so unplug your router from the telephone socket and plug it into an electrical point closer to your PC (no closer than about 1 metre away).
If you can connect at a shorter distance, then something is interfering.
If you can't connect wirelessly, plug in your ethernet cable and try to access the Wireless settings page on your router with the wired connection.
Check that "Wireless AP" is enabled.
Change the channel and try again.
      If still no signal:

Tick the radio button to disable the security.
Unplug your ethernet and try to connect wirelessly with disabled security.
If you can connect without security it is likely to be a fault with your adaptors encryption. You could try WEP encryption.
Don't forget to take your router back to your telephone point afterwards

does the router itself still have the internet light on/have an IP address? chances are the router is where the fault lies. may have just died...
