      Wireless printing & router

I got a HP 3310 Wireless printer, does anyone know how I connect it to the Sky router. It shows on the printer that it is connected but printer is not shown on the connected devices on the router admin page., only my laptop is shown

When trying to print from my wireless laptop which is also connected to router I keep getting the message that Printer is not connected.

Is there some sort of firewall on router stopping the printer connecting?

I had no trouble conencting when I had a BT router

      Thanks

it's ok i found out what was wrong, the IP address on the printer was still set to the BT router, I changed it to the IP address given on the Sky Router admin page which was showing as Unknown Device, now all working.

      Hello Kaitline,

This is an old thread. It might help to know which printer you would like to connect to you D-Link router.

There are many WiFi printers available now and although some older versions of Sky's firmware did have problems connecting via WiFi, I believe that most work well now.

You may have to double check that you have the latest firmware on your printer too. Some older printers would have had WEP. This encryption method has been cracked and is no longer recommended. Sky routers now dispatched do not have WEP as the default encryption method.

I think if you go into one of the big computer shops in Manila, they will sort you out with what you want
