      Hijack?

      Hey guys, im new here

Earlier today, i managed to connect my Nintendo DS through the Wirless Router using WiFi. But, the instant i did that, i got this little bubble thing come up on the right hand side of my taskbar sayin "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network", and straight away my internet connection on the PC dropped. I couldnt browse the web or anything, until i switched of my DS.

Thats never happened before, and i've conected to WiFi using the same router and same DS a few months back

      Why is this happening?

If it's possible to change the IP address of the DS make sure it's different from the router's (that's usually 192.168.0.1).

      Re: Hijack?

hey there... one device is pinching the ip address of another. perhaps one of the devices already has a manual ip address and the DS is trying to use it too.....a simple fix for this is to assign a manual ip address to each device.

      i.e

      Nintendo DS:
      ip: 192.168.0.2
      subnet mask 255.255.255.0
      DNS server/Router: 192.168.0.1

      PC:
      ip: 192.168.0.3
      subnet mask 255.255.255.0
      DNS server/Router: 192.168.0.1

if you don't know how to set manual ip addresses post back or google it.
