      Wireless Connection Dropping out, can you help??

      I have some strange things going on with my wireless connection from my laptop to the Sky Netgear router.

      It keps droping out every few minutes, sometimes reconects and sometimes I have to reconnect it manually.

      The wierd thing is that my wireless indicator at the bottom right of the destop sometimes shows the red cross as if disconnected but it's still connected.

      Anyone any clues as to what is going on??

      I have the same problem, my adapter(which i got from sky) also overheats! My connection drops 3-4 times a day, and i have to take it out and re-insert it into the USB port.

      i had same probs. it turned out my cordless phones were transmitting on same channel as the router. i reset the channel of the router from 1 to 10 and all has been fine since.
      worth a try??

      Try turning off UPnP in the router -- worked for us. See tutorials on setting up for how to address the router's user interface.
