Re: New Belkin Wireless Card need help

See the tutorials on this site for details of how to set up wireless.

One problem with mixing brands of wireless equipment is that the WPA encryption passphrase (supplied in Sky's correspondence and usually also written on the base of the router) may be translated differently in the two units. To solve this you need to access the router by ethernet cable (to bypass the wireless encryption) and jot down the HEX code produced by the passphrase and apply it to the wireless adapter's encryption interface.

Re: New Belkin Wireless Card need help

Thanks for the reply sorry for the poor spelling, I was in a rush when typing that before.

The wirless card I am using is the G+ MIMO USB Adapter.

For some reason a wirless network called "JIMBO" shows up and it connects to that network fine. But it won't connect to SKY..!!!

      Anymore suggestions..

      Thanks

Re: New Belkin Wireless Card need help

As I said, you may need to take special care when using encryption with different brands. The Belkin MIMO is also a more advanced design than the Sky/Netgear router so I'd would check that both are set 11g/11b wireless mode (just called b&g in the Sky unit). When set to 108 mode the Belkin may be defaulting to Channel 6 and the Sky unit probably isn't. The fact that you can pick up a neighbour at least proves that the Belkin is working.

I managed to fix the problem

I went into the Setup Access List and clicked and turned of access control and also switched the auto 108 to g and b
