That seems like a good idea, I will give that a try in a mo.

I wish I had read the boards this morning before I rang Sky to order their Broadband though, I am not so sure that I would have done if I had read Newsreaders comments sooner. I gave up holding my breath for a call back from their sales department when my whole head was blue. If they can't phone back to take your order, I hope I never need Tier 3 lol.

Anyway, off to bed now to get some beauty sleep

Well, I do want Sky Broadband, and curiosity got the better of me, so I rang to tell them that my MAC had been entered incorrectly.

17 minutes later, my MAC has now been entered correctly and I am good to go.

Staff were great and very pleasant, and also wished me a Happy Christmas.

      http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=499346

It looks like Mr. Murdock's had a VIP line installed especially for you.....I knew you had some influence with the right people......they're just waiting for your call!!!!

Apologies for last night mate..... but you've got to admit it was really really funny!!!! .......irony at it's absolute best!!!

Seriously though I do hope it all goes well for you.......you've only got the password letters bit, the late router delivery, the BT late connection bit, and a hundred and one other hurdles to go.........

Are we having a Skyuser Xmas Sweepstake on your actual live connection date????

It just had to happen, after I checked the MAC number with the agent as well

Think we should? I was a bit worried I might not have any internet over Xmas if it all goes wrong.

Oh my gawd, Christmas with no Internet, what a horrendous thought.

That would mean having to try to find some intelligent conversation for the in-laws. Shudder the thought....

I can confirm on behalf of Newsreader that this would not be possible!

Well seems that a simple migration to Sky is still not possible. Hope you get connected though and Sky don't screw it up for you!!

I have been having connection problems all day on my existing Pipex connection. It just drops out and then won't automatically connect again. I did a search on my number on SamKnows and got the following returned:

      Results for 01171234567 at 18:36 16/12/2006

Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
However, there is already an order pending against your line. If you do not know what this order is for, contact BT on 150. You will not be able to order broadband until this order is cleared.

If I wasn't such an optimist, I would think that Sky were starting on me already so that I didn't feel so bad about their service when I eventually get it
