      @dgilbert2

      It had nothing to do with NewsreadeR I was the one who told the Sky.

      I was calling them to get some information and just happened to mention his situation as well as it was related to other problems I was trying to get somewhere with.

      Despite that one comment above the majority of people on here know that you didn't so don't worry about it, the main thing is that you are now finally up and running.

      What is the difference between G.DMT and ADSL2+ ?

      I am on G.DMT and I saw on Mognut's Utility that you can change the mode to ADSL2+, G.lite, ADSL2.

      Also my router says that I am synching at a speed of 6688 Kbps, but when I am downloading files I get upto 720 Kb/s lol.

      Good for you NR and others. Can Wheelie put in a good word about Tie Pairs ? Funny no other ISP mention this as a technical problem at the exchange. Even The Guardian article (linked above) today doesnt metion this as an issue for the delays.

      Your long awaited article on the dreaded Tie Pairs (as promised) is eagerly awaited. If there is any BT engineer (current or ex) readng this, please send a used or broken pair to me/us as a souvenir and memento. I would like to frame it as a lasting tribute to SKy's ingenuity in stalling customer queries and covering their ineptitude.

      Re: Should I Order Sky BB? Fell at first hurdle...

      Just a little update from me:

      I got my MAC code again today from Eclipse and tried to register it with Sky, the guy on the phone said i was already activated and that eclipse shouldn't be charging me (all of this after i stated i have contacted BT Wholesale). So i called back again hoping to get to someone more useful and that i did "Vinne" a great man that understood the situation and knew something had messed up so hes sent this forward to "service recovery" and i should get a reply within 48 hours(guessing working hours).

      Lets just see if they can keep this helpful flow going

      Well Done NR, I'm glad to see it worked out alright in the end.
