Re: Should I Order Sky BB? Fell at first hurdle...

      Hi

When you last rang to speak to them re this, did they tell you your order was in delayed status?

This seems to be the problem, if it is delayed by BT, then genuinely it would appear that Sky have no clue on the date, as it has not been confirmed by BT.

This afaik was what happened to my connection. The problem is I think that because they do not know this, they will make something up (or did do) to get you off the phone to them (imho)

If your MAC is in the same format as mine was, it appears to be hit or miss whether or not the order is accepted by BT.

If it because there is work going on at the exchange, then Sky would have no control over this and so I am afraid you will have to wait until the work is completed. The fact that you got your router, shows that the order has progressed, afaik, these are not sent out now, until the order is accepted by BT, hence why mine never appeared.

Good luck, and tbh I think Sky may be reading this thread by now and so should try and resolve.

Going to give them a call tonight saying my current ISP has emailed me saying my MAC Code has expired. See what they say to that, I'm also going to apply for a new MAC code with my ISP. As for Sky im not 100% sure what to do, hopefully they can give me an idea when i call them later seeing if I need to re-order as my MAC code has expired or if they think the MAC code will still work which i see very very doubtful :P

      Thanks NR

I hope Sky are reading this thread and if so please help me haha!

Hopefully everything will go through fine second time around as I have had nothing but bad luck with ISP's over the past 8-10months

Re: Should I Order Sky BB? Fell at first hurdle...

Well I have to say I'm sat here & my blood is absolutely boiling!!

For 12 weeks I have tried to get to speak to someone within the Sky organisation regarding the disgusting treatment I've received only to be fobbed off with "we can't tell you when it will be rectified" or "There is no-one we can get to speak to you to escalate the problem"

Still they continue to treat me like an idiot with their patronising attitude.

@NewsreadeR, I'm glad that you managed to get your problem resolved mate, I don't suppose you could put a word in for me could you?? maybe get someone to call me, if you can I'll PM you my contact details as the constant banging my head against a brick wall is getting me down

All I've ever asked for is the truth. If the problem can't be resolved for 3 months then tell me.

OR.....I appeal again.......If anyone from Sky reads this, please try & help.

Sorry if this sound like I'm begging, but I am.

Sky said there was a problem with my exchnage (Lies tbh). I have just called BT and said there have been no orders placed during the time of my MAC code. So im now waiting for my MAC Code again which is another 5 working days :/

It never going to end :P

I want to order Sky BB but keep reading of problems. Even when people are connected there are problems with Xbox live.

Im guessing the xbox live issues are to do with blocked ports? just use the DMZ to allow the xbox to use every port

      Code:
      Placed 05 Jan 2007
      Description CHANGE
      Appointment No date yet
      Date due 11 Jan 2007
      Status In progress
      Last update 05 Jan 2007
Notes Your order is in progress.
      Items in this order
Description Product name Quantity Cost Rental
PROVIDE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0
PROVIDE SMPF TO SMPF MIG. ON TACTICAL 1 0.0 0.0
At least the order is now showing - whats a SMPF TO SMPF MIG. ON TACTICAL?
