I am soooo jealous. how did you manage to get your MAC code so fast? Pipex have quoted me 5 working days and that seems to fall in with Ofcoms recommendations.

      Grrrrr

I rang up and asked for it on the Sales number, gave it me there and then.

Full credit to Sky as well, no wait on the 0870 number - straight through.

LMAO. I just phoned Pipex, told them that BT Wholesale could see no reason for a 2-5 Working day delay in supplying the MAC and, hey presto!!, they found it had miraculously appeared on my account.

Off to try Sky's 0870 now and see how I get on.

Thanks for your response NewsReader it prompted my call just then

Oh dear. The 0870 answered after 3 rings, only to be told that their systems are down and they will ring me back.

Shall I start holding my breath now?

When you get through, and give them the MAC. Make sure you tell to them to enter it correctly and listen carefully when they read it back to you.

Mine was read back to me with 1 digit wrong, which I put down to him been in a busy environment.

Thanks, i'll do that. I also read somewhere (in these forums I think) that they have to be input in Uppercase too, so I shall request that at the time.

I suspect that they won't call me back anyhow so I shall try them again in the morning. It will probably have very little bearing on the time it takes to go live anyway.
