Cookies law changed at 11th hour
In an updated version of its advice for websites on how to use cookies – small text files that are stored on the user's computer and can identify them – the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has said that websites can assume that users have consented to their use of them.

@NewsreadeR
Could you tell me where you obtained the "pop-up" box from? (pre-built solution.)
Thanks

Re: EU Cookie Directive - May 2012
Funniest pop ups I have seen for a long time. The last one is especially good, here it is for those too lazy to click all the way through.

This site uses cookies to track lawyers wanting to leave a comment about how this jokey piece of hokum doesn't necessarily reflect the detailed facts of the actual legislation, which doubtless are harmless enough and are being exaggerated by a ruthless cabal of capitalist running-dogs with an anti-EU, unshackled-free-trade agenda and which will in reality have a minimal effect on users and serve to protect their privacy from unwarranted abuse. Or alternatively this will inevitably become a minefield of unintended consequences and an opportunity for mischievous litigants to tie up the competition in legal knots or shut down some interesting and useful marketing channels because you personally don't happen to like them. Don't you not not not disagree to us not storing this information? Not.

I've blocked the cookies from this site but I can login just fine and view the forums which is all I need

But fair play for being so pro active about it. I noticed this arrived on the site on Friday

Re: EU Cookie Directive - May 2012
That is your right, but have you also removed all the cookies from your PCs? If not they will still be active until they time out. These can vary from the session only to 1 year. It is possible when you remove them you will not then be able to log in so easily, as you will not be recognised as a member.
You will have to follow the instructions in the first post to remove them from your PC.
