      Collapsible Side Bar

This is a new feature over the old forum software.

As a member, (and as a bonus for you taking the time to register) you are now able to collapse the actual side bar, (to the left of the forums pages) This was never an option on the old software.

      How to close the sidebar

All you need to do is click the chevrons.

This will then give you a layout similar to this

If at any point you want the side bar to reappear, then just click the chevrons again.

      Customising the sidebar

If people want the sidebar but say, no adverts, (or indeed any of the blocks in the sidebar) then all you need to do, is click on the little blue box with the white arrow pointing up

Which then hides it from view

To reverse this, just reclick on the little blue box with the arrow pointing down

Please note, if at any point you are not logged into the forum, then you will not have any of the above options.

      Re: Collapsible Side Bar

Playing earlier this afternoon, I found that the settings for the sidebar are kept, I guess, in the cookie. So if you have a Laptop with a small screen, you could minimise it, leaving it open on a larger screen.

Sections like 'New Forum Posts' could be useful for those who regularly contribute, where the Tag Cloud could prove a nice quick search for those hunting a solution to an issue.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
