A Friendly Warning To Sky Employees

We absolutely do appreciate all of the Sky employees that help out on here and post to help our member's and guests out with issues with Sky TV or Sky Broadband.

However, it is blindingly obvious that Sky monitor these forums and will potentially take action against those that give information out that Sky do not want to be known at this present time.

As a website, we have taken the stance that we will not give out secrets / breaking news etc unless Sky have had the right to reply before we publish it. We have done this purely, as our ultimate goal is to work along Sky, and not against or to alienate or jeapordise, and to then share what Sky want people to actually know and then we would publish it etc

Even though we do know a lot about the future plans, for hardware, and other enhancements, we do not always share this information on the forums for the reason stated above. We fully appreciate those that do tell us this information.

Please do not lose your job, or get yourself into any trouble, by trying to help and let people know what is coming a few months down the line. It's just not worth losing your job over.

If it is a company secret, or not for public knowledge, do not post it under your forum username, as it is highly likely Sky will look to find out who you are.

In all honesty, Sky have been very good. They have never ever asked us to divulge any information, they have never even asked us if Joe Bloggs from Broadband is on here, nor have they ever asked us for personnally identifiable data.

If you get caught, it is because you have leaked or given the information out, and done so in such a way that you could be identified.

Two years ago or so we welcomed the leaks, but it is just not worth anyone losing their job over, so please, do not take the risk.

So what you are saying is if you read a post and you Know you can help with the issue. But it might cause yourself to be reprimanded or even sacked. Maybe Discretion in a PM Private Message will solve any conflicts.

Re: A Friendly Warning To Sky Employees

Common sense is the name of the game here, Sky have leaked certain things to certain departments to see if any leaks appear and if they do they know where it came from, it the old carrot and stick trick.

They have to tell their staff at some point!!!! The more important question is why do some staff think it's appropriate to abuse their employers trust!

Re: A Friendly Warning To Sky Employees

Here`s a Question A Customer Buy`s a product and is having problems with it and the agent says sorry but you need to speak to the manager and manager says there is nothing that can be done. yet the agent knows there is an easy fix. So does the manager. The manager can make more money by selling a more expensive product. Does the agent tell the Customer or Just keep Quiet.

Depends on how much the agent wants to keep his job.

Steve, I know what you are saying but the issue here is whether employees should divulge information that is not theirs. The information belongs to the company.
