      Hi Murdock

To attach a photograph to your post, make a post, scroll down to additional options, click the manage attachments box, and then follow these steps.

Browse for the image on your PC, select it, then click on the upload button. Close that window and then click the submit button for the post.

The edit option would a cool thing to have as spelling and grammar is not my strong point.

But I love the idea you will be able to submit your own news and so on. I guess the moderation of this is not going to be the easiest of things to keep on top of.

The way the CMS works, is via the vBulletin usergroups. This new method of submitting news is for any member of SkyUser to submit their own news, whereas eventually, we could allow people to become editors to do news items for the CMS.

Editors would have the same editing rights as the admins. This is completely different and a lot more advanced than the submit your news story though.

Personal opinion, editors would be a great thing to have to oversee and edit content. I will have to make sure that I read and re read anything before I submit it.

I just have that problem that everything that is in my mind is being typed correctly.

You can upload any of the file types in the list that appears, when you click the attachments button. ie .doc .pdf etc

PS: Any forum that uses vBulletin would / should work the same way.

      Editors, a Good Idea.

I rarely post without having to use edit.
Even then, you tend to read what you want to see.

Re: Beta - Submit your own article

tbh The homepage news is not as busy with new news as we would like it to be.

      The main problems we have:

      1) Finding somebody to become a writer

      2) Finding new news

      3) Both 1) and 2) would be unpaid

At the moment we have RSS feeds from Sky News, The Register and TBB - However, these are just dragged automatically and if you actually read one of these links, there is only usually a paragraph, with a link to their sites for the full story.

What we want to achieve eventually is our own news, and then when you click on the link, you read our article and not another websites.

The CMS is only the start of our capabilities for the future, but as per any other website, is only as good as the content that is placed in it. There is just so much we can add to it now. As it is common throughout the site, adding blocks or modules for other useful items is now possible.

New things that we are currently working on:

      Newsletter
      Games, Movie and Music reviews
      Mobile / PDA
Bandwidth Meter for all our guests / members
