Forum Layout Changes Effective September 2008

We have made a few changes tonight

      1) The Technical and Sky TV forums display order - We have moved the order of these two forums so that the Sky TV help is now where the Technical Help was.

      2) As we only had 4 posts in the Sky Interactive forum, we have moved these into the Sky TV general forum and then removed the Sky Interactive forums.

      3) The Sky Movies forum, is now a subforum of the Sky TV general forums, replacing where the Sky Interactive forums were.

Why have we made these changes?

When we first setup SkyUser, our main goal was to help our members / guests with Sky Broadband questions etc

The Technical forums were born from listening to our members, and then allowing our members to discuss 'hacking of the Sky routers' etc

However, two things have since happened:

      • New FW has arrived for the routers
      • The TV forums have gotten busier

Statistically, monitoring our forum visitors, the amount of people who actually view or click on the Technical forums, is about ten times less than the volume of those who actually view or click on the TV forums. Therefore we believe that this will now be easier for those members and guests who visit our site, looking for help on Sky, Sky+ and Sky+ HD etc.

As you can see from the image attached, the Sky+ HD forum is now in the top 5 most visited parts of our website.

We have no intentions of removing the Technical forums, they are part of our history, this is just purely a small cosmetic change to the layout.

      Ged and Glenn.
