For those of you who have been following the Phorm saga, you may or not know that there is a
Protest at the Barbican, on July 16th 2008. This will be a demonstration, to protest against the use of Deep Packet Inspection for the purpose of behavioural advertising (more specifically Phorm).
Although this does not apply to Sky Broadband, Sky have not ruled out the possibility of partnering with Phorm in the future.

“Sky is interested in exploring the potential for targeted online advertising and we’re talking with a number of companies operating in this area. Of paramount importance is the online safety of our customers and we’ll only implement a solution when we can use customer data in a responsible way which safeguards privacy.”

Our poll shows that the majority of people polled would physically leave Sky Broadband if implemented.
If we are to show ISP's that Phorm is not welcome, we all need to let our voices be heard. You can help do that in a number of ways;
Alexander Hanff, owner of
https://nodpi.org/ is currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of organising the
Protest at the Barbican!
Glenn and myself as individuals, and as a website, are totally against Phorm, and we have already donated £50 to help towards the costs of arranging the protest. If you feel like you could also donate something, large or small, please visit
Alex's website to do so. It is estimated that he still needs to collect £477 in total, having already received £103.
