      Might want to check that the RSS is turned on then, cos I'm still getting ones from last night, like the EPG revamp thread - and that's only had the one post at 11pm...

      Oh, and that side is below everything else, not in line with the stories on the left...

      Oh, oh, your ad's don't appear to be showing up properly either - header nor side bar ones....

      The RSS feed is turned on, hence the little orange icon in your browser.

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/external.php?type=RSS2 Click that, it mirrors the posts on the home page. Or are you saying you want to constantly check the home page for latest replies? Even though the home page is the least looked at page as it is?

      The best way to check for replies is to click the new posts link - http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/search/new/

      Usual plea from me

      I like a button/link to 'posts since last visit'.

      Otherwise, I think I like it.

      Have crappy IE6 here, so don't have the little orange icon...

      What I'm saying is that the latest posts haven't been updating on that page at all, so it's not really a latest post section, more like a snapshot at midnight-ish

      Re: SkyUser Beta Project

      I think you maybe missing the point of RSS.

      RSS takes out stories or posts etc and then displays them as a small section of it so to speak. The Forum produces an RSS feed of which it will then produce a page. Now if we updated the RSS on every post, then if another website using our RSS feed is then going to have stories posted all day rather than the title of the thread, which is not what it was designed to do.

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/external.php?type=RSS2

      So using that feed, the following is available

      Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky!

      The unofficial help and support forum for Sky Broadband and everything Sky! Broadband setup, Router, Email, Sky Anytime, Sky+, Sky HD, SkyTalk. Unofficial exchange information for Sky Broadband.

      Sky+ with TV link
      <snip>

      Aerial from LIDL - advice needed
      <snip>3D1500006565.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip% 3D1500006586.Televisions%3EC%24cip%3D1500006587.LC D%2Band%2Bplasma%2Btelevisions%3EFC%24Screen+Size+ %28inches%29%3D19.19.htm)

      Yet another "I'm being disconnected a lot at peak times" thread... [stats included]
      <snip>

      Thank you once again.
      <snip>

      Therefore, because we use RSS feed the latest posts on the home page can only display the titles of the above, with a link to the usual thread in the forum, which is all generated by the forum's RSS feed. So until the forum's RSS updates, the Home page cannot grab that and then update the home page. But it only applies to threads not posts.

      So I think the best way, if you are really wanting to see all the latest posts is is to use the link I posted above or click on the New Posts Icon above.

      The RSS feed will only check every now and then, (This is part of the way it works) otherwise 2000 odd people pressing refresh to see the latest post's on the home page all at the same time will bring the server down.

      The other thing to remember is that this is in BETA as in not expected to work as we want it until it does. If we can refine this we will, if you want us to do it so that every reply is updated on the home page in real time, the new CMS will not do that afaik as it is a technical limitation.

      The whole idea of the new home page is a one stop shop for people to get help with latest news, tutorials and links to take that person straight to where they need to go. In other words, they don't have to trawl through over 110k of forum posts to find their answers. Regulars would probably not use the home page, as it is historically proven in our statistics.

      It does say Latest posts not Live posts as its not a live feed so there will be some delay

      Do you mean that the login and latest posts are right down on the right hand side with the news etc on the left way above so there is a huge white space below the news on the left hand side?

      It doesn't do that on IE7 or Firefox However I have just seen it on IE6 on the server browser.
