There's loads of places round the web you can set up a forum for free. If anyone was really keen they could set up another venue for hackers and invite whoever they want via PM. If the mods of this place want to play it straight then that's their decision. Hell, if they think this place doesn't exist then it won't. I'm not paying to come here so I'm happy to play ball.

BTW, is there any revenue from Sky for those banners? Does it help to fund the forum if we click them?
Connection Speed 13753 kbps Down - 766 kbps Up
Line Attenuation 33.5 db Down - 18.7 db Up
Noise Margin 7.0 db Down - 11.6 db Up

Nope we dont get any money from Sky at all, hence why we are looking at other ISP's to advertise, now if Sky were to pay for banners, that would be different.

The forum is totally funded by myself and Glenn

I don't see anything wrong with flashing the router (i'm running the netgear firmware) but at the same time I respect and understand your decision to close the topic. This forum is an excellent free resource for Sky Broadband subscribers and the fact you haven't deleted the post means it is still unbiased.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against anyone flashing a router with new firmware, but as anyone who has signed upto SkyBB knows full well or should its a requirement of SkyBB that there router be used and what ever the reason thats the way they want it to be.

Hence the reason that the admins on here decided to do what they did and as such from here on in any post started on the subject will just get deleted.

Is this not simply a way for Sky to sell us all a router for 40 - for the base package - and a bit less for others? OK they call it an activation fee, but recently Talk Talk changed their compulsory 30.00 connection fee to a voluntary 30 for a modem in addition to changing certain other terms in their ads relating to the FREE BROADBAND offer.

      Welcome to the site Jennifer

Not really anyone on the Max product pay the best prices and not only that with Talk Talk you are tied to an 18 month contact and have to user there phone service as part of the deal, my neighbour was going to join them not so long ago but didn't like the deal or the 18 months that they would be stuck with them.
