Posters should remember there is an edit button
(if the thread is not locked) and you can also edit your signature.
Sometimes you say things, in the heat of the moment,
      which you subsequently regret.
When you cool down it can be edited away.

If only real life was like that.

      Re: Back to basics

Well said Newsreader.. I myself have had my gripes with Sky, but I channel both positive and negative feedback on here. Thats only fair to Sky AND to perhaps furture prospective Sky users.

Like many of us I just wish would indeed actively participate in an oficial capacity on here! Madasafish - Although a much smaller ISP, does a similiar thing and it works very well both in helping fellow customers and (I would imagine) good for customer retention/relations (they kept me happy for 3 years!)

      Great post..

Ok Newsreader has quite rightly laid down the rules, But people, please, the subsequent 'I totally agree' posts are nauseating.

      Re: Back to basics

I've been reading a number of messages but haven't posted on this site before so can't comment fully on the foregoing. However, I do feel that there are some comments worth making.

Clearly, it is absolutely, and totally, unacceptable to comment on individual members of staff at Sky or Sky staff posting on this site. However, I feel that the fact that so many people have such strong feelings is a reflection on the attitude Sky (as an organisation) has to its customers, particularly its longstanding customers. Unfortunately, the customer services people, whether they agree or don't with this approach, are on the front line and don't always have the briefing or training to deal with the problems of naturally frustrated customers. This is a failure on the part of Sky and not the poor frontline individuals concerned.

The fact that this site, and various others, exist and 'civilians', through sheer altruism, are having to help each other other out must indicate that Sky is not offering an acceptable level of customer service. I'm pretty much stuck with Sky due to reception and TV options in my area. If not, I would bin them immediately. Every single time I have to contact Sky, I come off the phone so annoyed and frustrated I would kick the cat if I had one (and I'm a very, very mild sort of person). And I'm keeping Sky shareholders in champagne for that priviledge.

If there is one thing that Sky staff on this site can do is take that message back to the company, please.
