While I don't know what goes on behind the scenes Fibre, the decent thing to have done would have been to speak to NewsreadeR about this before he had to point this out in the thread.

Perhaps you would like to point out to Khile, that if any links do appear, then he will be banned from this site.

As for helping him out I have no issue with that, I do have an issue with the way things have happened.

You will not believe the way that we feel about this, and it has in fact made us ask the question, should we remove signatures completely from every member?

We should never have even had to consider this option and it is a shame that one or two members should have abused their membership to SkyUser so much.

If you read back through this thread,

no but i did register on the site as khile

has he made me an admin?

The main reason as to why the "first" site was a simple re-copy of SU, Was Khile let someone else set up the site as he doesnt know how to use vB, He told this person to "make it like" SkyUser, and they simply copied it, This was all explained to me over MSN..
Whilst I am flattered that someone wanted to model their own website on ours, SkyUser is SkyUser's concept, and that should have been respected.

Even looking at it now, there are still similarities, and to someone who did not know that we are totally independant of each other, it could be construed that we are not independent.

We have been lied to by their Site Owner, and then all of a sudden you are involved in the running of it.

SkyUser is the end result of 1000's of hours of our members contributions, and we are not about to let that be copied without permission, or even without the courtesy of being asked.

tbh I am a little disappointed with you as well Fibre.

The front page has now been amended to have a 'headlining' post just like SU.

well if we have to all those involved in copying this site will be banned, i have already asked ged to give those the benefit of the doubt and not ban anyone yet, but that may change.

"Whilst I am flattered that someone wanted to model their own website on ours, SkyUser is SkyUser's concept, and that should have been respected." This sums the whole sorry affair up in one sentence - tbh I dont know what has gone on behind the scenes, but I find it incredulous that, alledgedly, our own members have contributed.

I have not said you are behind it, I said I was disappointed that you have become an Admin on there, it was not up to you to change the offending site, we could have just sent a cease and desist to the host.

As an Admin on there and being seen to promote it in my eyes would be a conflict of interest, for obvious reasons. The fact that they copied our site in the first place, would have made me think twice before accepting any position.

Seriously, if the guy who has bought the domain name, domain hosting and a copy of vBulletin, does not even know the basics, ie how to work vBulletin and needs spoon feeding, what credibility does that have?

Your call Fibre, I have made my feelings clear.
