      SkyUser achieves 7000 members

On August 3rd 2006, myself and Glenn, having had more than a fair few beers, suggested setting up a website whereby we could help people who may or not be having problems with Sky Broadband.

We registered the domain and then powered up our trustee server, and launched SkyUser the website. We were constantly spamming our mates on MSN and added the URL to our signatures on various fora.

Seven months later we have achieved the impossible (or so we thought) and can now proudly shout that we have 7000 members. We have put a lot of time and resources into this website, and it has been more than we ever imagined in the amount of time we spend on here. Good job we have understanding partners

The best thing in my eyes about this website, is the members, everybody just wants to help each other out. This was our goal and you guys and gals are a credit to what we wanted to achieve. Without the support of everyone so far, we would be nowhere near as big as we are today, and for which we are eternally grateful.

We now want to grow even bigger, we would love to have even more members and now the 10,000th member is our new target. We have had our ups and downs with certain members, but most of all the comments that we read, about how our site has helped people, makes it all worthwhile.

Again I would like to thank AOL for their past sponsorship of our site, without them we would not have had the funds to throw this all together and make the site like it is today.

Also a big thankyou to Amenworld, very kindly donating us a dedicated server to host our website on, and also a thankyou to the staff at Sky and Easynet for their help and support on the site.

I would also like to say a big thankyou to our moderators, who have stuck by us and are still as helpful as they were when they were just ordinary SkyUser members. We always recruit our moderators from those that offer their help and expertise on this forum, this way they have a good knowledge of how we like to run this website.

We would still love to have Sky officially take part on here, and again I renew our invitation to you guys, to officially take part and be active in the provisioning and helping out of your excellent Broadband product to our members.

Our 7000th member is daveyid congratulations and welcome to SkyUser.

Really excellent job. I found Skyuser before I signed up for Sky BB and it was one of the reasons i bought Sky BB. Another of course was 5 for up to 8 megs download is pretty much a no brainer

      Re: SkyUser achieves 7000 members

Same as that. I found Skyuser before actually joining Sky, learned what I should be doing to set up everything correctly. It made the whole process so much easier and less stressfull. When I did encounter a couple of minor problems I new exactly what to do.

I think coming on this site saved me some money and saved sky a lot of CS's time that was probably spent telling someone else they didn't have a clue what was wrong.

This place is an incredible source of knowledge for people using, or thinking of using, Sky BB.

Well done guys! Keep it up!

      Re: SkyUser achieves 7000 members

Congratulations. I agree with all the previous posters, I've been helped on the site, have learned a lot and also (hopefully) passed my knowledge and experiences on to help others. Isn't that what it's all about?
