» Set your Sky router up
Untitled Document

Connect the power, lan cable and phone cable:

It will be a good idea to connect using a LAN cable for now, if you connect by wireless and change the SSID or WPA key you will get disconnected.

Once connnected open up your internet browser and go to the following address: 192.168.0.1
You will be prompted for a username and password (they are admin - sky ):

Once you login the default page is the Router Status page, this will tell you if you are connected to the internet:

At the bottom of that page you will see Router Statistics and Connection Status buttons. Clicking on them will display various useful/interesting info:

First click on Set Password on the left menu and change you default sky password to something else. Avoid using easy to guess passwords:

Click on the Wireless Settings link on the left. You may want to change the SSID to a more nicer name instead of the default SKY12345. Its up to you if you want to change the WPA key if you feel inclined.
You can also disable the wireless by unticking Enable Wireless Access Point :

Click on WAN Setup on the left menu and deselect Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port :

If you wish its possible scale down the DHCP address range and reserve IP addresses:

Firewall Rules can be used to open ports, as you can see in this example I've opened a custom Service called VNC on internal IP 192.168.0.4 (more about custom services below this image):

If a port that you need is not listed you can create them using Services , in this example I have created two services VNC and BT on ports 5900 and 44000-44005:

And finally there is Diagnostics you can reboot the router from here and do some testing:
