Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
Anybody have any experience with Central Heating Pump Suppressors
I have noticed since my central heating has been on my crc0 errors
have gone from around one every 70mins to around one every 8mins
I noticed this after my central heating packed in last week
and the pump was going on and off constantly trying to fire the boiler up
that resulted in around 4000 error's in a day
when its usually around 20-25
So i strongly suspect its down to the central heating pump being started/stopped
I need to fix this asap as i am leaving my central heating off as much as poss atm
to stop dlm kicking in

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
Probably not the pump per se.
Modern boilers don't have a standing gas pilot light but use spark ignition.
If the boiler doesn't fire up the software will keep trying and may try a higher level spark.
If the insulation of the spark circuit is damaged it may arc over somewhere other than at the gap in the combustion chamber resulting in more radiation.
Sparks radiate a high level,wide frequency range (I would have said broad band but that has a different meaning on this forum) energy spectrum.
They can affect everything from AM radio to digital terrestrial TV.
Solution -- get your boiler fixed.

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
It had a new pcb last week
and is working fine now
My boiler has a pilot
the thing that makes me strongly suspect the pump
when it was broken it was start stopping every few seconds
and my error rate went crazy
now that its fixed the error rate is high when the central heating is on
but not crazy
if its off my error rate is normal

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
No guarantee, but it might help if you plug your router into a surge suppressor.

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
I did that about 6 days ago
didnt make a diff
Linkuptime = 4 day 22 hr 21 min 58 sec
RSCorrectedErrorsDn = 0
RSUnCorrectedErrorsDn = 805
RSCorrectedErrorsUp = 0
RSUnCorrectedErrorsUp = 59
Linkuptime = 5 day 5 hr 7 min 3 sec
RSCorrectedErrorsDn = 0
RSUnCorrectedErrorsDn = 833
RSCorrectedErrorsUp = 0
RSUnCorrectedErrorsUp = 59
In 5 days I will get about 110 or so errors
Usually just under double the upstream error rate

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
Does it actually affect your connection, though? If not, does it matter?

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
Yes it makes me skit in games
when the pump goes on and off
and it will most prob kick off dlm again
On average
7.95 db margin i usually have an error every 14 mins
12db margin i usually have an error every 75-80mins
14db margin i usually have an error every 120mins
im at a 12.4db margin atm and getting an error every 9 mins average
though this was at every 4 mins until i calmed down with the heating being on
so the average is getting larger
I dont want to have to force a 18db margin or something
if i can just replace the central heating suppressor
I read that they can pack in and if they pack in it causes problems with adsl lines
but cant find any further info

Re: Central Heating Pump Suppressors?
One thing I find a bit strange is that you are showing zero corrected errors. In most stats I have seen, the corrected errors exceed the uncorrected by a very large margin. Do you know the reason for this? Makes me wonder if your router is reporting correctly.
