Re: Problems with router settings
I understand now that you have tried another Blu-Ray player, but your responses indicate to me that you are not that familiar with what you are doing and you are now effectively screaming to get some help to get it all working.
This doesn't mean that you are purposefully making a complete mess of things. I do believe that it might be useful to get someone who has a clearer idea about what is required to be done in this matter.
Another process which I have been thinking about includes swapping the Sky router for another. If you have a friend with a Sky router which you could borrow, this might be useful.

Re: Problems with router settings
blu ray does have wireless capabilities, but unfortunateley I live in a metal framed house and wireless is useless all over it.
I have had a network engineer look at the problem tonight and he has also failed to get the blu ray to connect to the internet. He said that it should be ok as the router can see the blu ray. And the blu ray can access the home network.
I have just emailed sky to see if the would send me a new router as he thinks it may be a problem within. When we look at attached devices it will show them on one refresh and then not show them on the next.

Re: Problems with router settings Chaps
Following on from my problem, nothing connects to the internet through this cable. I have had the cable tested and all is ok (network chappie put tester on line)
Have tried cable in all ports of the roter and on its own in the router, still no good.
I am using all ports on the router for various things around the house and all ok.
This is so frustrating.

Re: Problems with router settings
Hve you tried your Blu-ray box using a different cable from the router?

Re: Problems with router settings
If you plug both ends of the ethernet cable into your router, both port lights should come on. If they don't the cable is faulty or the wrong type.
