Re: Can i add a flash drive to a netgear router?
yes , but i have a desktop(upstsirs) and a laptop(downstairs) and the desktop isnt always on and the laptop isnt always on, so i was thinking of adding a flash drive to the router, the old homehub had a usb port already to do this , but the netgear doesnt so i was thinking if i converted the port it would work

Re: Can i add a flash drive to a netgear router?
Dont know to be honest, but why not plug the drive into the pc thats on, or if the contents are that important copy them to both pc's - surely you must have space or it must be an extremely big flash drive.

Re: Can i add a flash drive to a netgear router?
I doubt an ethernet to USB adapter will work as they are just designed to take the signal and not act as a NAS (which is what you are effectively trying to achieve).
There are plenty of cheap NAS adapters on the market. YOu might want to consider something like Linksys.com ? Products/Wired/Basic Networking/Network Storage/NSLU2 which would plug into your router and then the USB drive into the device.
