Flashing Netgear with dodgey Recovery Util
Okay, I'm trying to flash my DG834GT router with the UpgradeWizard program from the Sky disc.
The problem is, I can't get this program to display properly on Windows XP SP2.

After selecting a network card, all the next screens merge together - some weird error.
Here's a screenshot:

Its like all the screens merge on top of each other.
I've tried this on two PCs. Both with the sky cd, and the DG834 Recovery Utility download direct from Netgear's site.
Two different PCs, two different downloads of the same software.
The only thing I can think of, is if this doesn't like XP SP2. But I figure everyone else who uses this tool is on SP2? So I can't think what else the problem could be.
Any ideas?
I am seeing "Limited or No Connectivity" when the router is in flashing mode.

Re: Flashing Netgear with dodgey Recovery Util
It wouldn't work for me on my PC, got out my works laptop and it was fine. My PC defo had SP2... the works laptop does have SP2 now, but i can't be 100% it did when I used it as SP2 at work is relatively recent.
It really does depend on the software/hardware installed on the PCs from what i can see.
You must be unlucky that both are no good

Re: Flashing Netgear with dodgey Recovery Util
Your screen pic is the same as I suffered when reflashing a Netgear router -- I even had a problem with a computer using a Netgear NIC. Switched to a computer with a Realtek NIC and that worked. Weird.
