Problem: Router keeps losing sync

My Router keeps on losing sync, i have read a few of the posts now and it would appear that my line noise maybe dropping too low

WAN PPPoA 720 878 0 344 2361 00:06:34
LAN 100M/Full 1799 1893 0 2801 704 00:08:50
WLAN 11M/54M 337 0 0 155 0 00:08:36
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3232 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 47 db 14 db

Can anyone shed any light on this?
Does anyone know how i can sort this out so i dont keep lossing connection ?

Re: Problem: Router keeps losing sync

Are you in your main telephone socket? Does your socket have a split going left to right on the plate just above the screws? If it does then you have a test socket hidden behind the bottom half of the plate you can use for comparrison stats.
Any extensions in play?
Any other sockets on the line in use?
So all main sockets have filters on that are the first things connected to them?
Do you suffer any noise on the line during calls ?

Re: Problem: Router keeps losing sync

Yes i am plugged into the master socket in the house. I have not run a check on it yet with the test socket, will try it tonight see if it will keep sync. What is the difference between the test socket and the standard socket? Everything that is connected to the phone line (there is just one other phone) comes off the microfilter. I have suffered with alot of crackling on the line during calls, this was before i had sky BB installed or setup. I used to have a extension lead in play, but last night i hooked the router straight to the wall without any extensions to see if that would make any difference. I only got disconnected once last night after connecting it direct and i left it going all night.
Does this help???

Thanks

Re: Problem: Router keeps losing sync

There was noise before sky bb?
Master is a faceplate which is then connected to your secondary socket.
Plugging directly into the test with the other socket empty may help..

Know how far you are as the crow flies or cable length to exchange?

I'd think about callin BT about that noise man.

Re: Problem: Router keeps losing sync

The test socket (if wired correctly) isolates everything from the line except what ever is plugged into the test socket itself. If you still get noise on your line with only the telephone plugged into the test socket call whoever you pay line rental too and get it sorted. If there is no noise when in the test socket and there is noise when in any other socket then it would point to internal wiring issues.

Thank you Paul and Carl,

Yes there was crackling on the line before Sky BB was even called.
Im about 2.5k from the exchange.

Well last night i brought one of them Powerline networks where you plug it into the wall. I have the router near the phone socket and plugged in directly and my powerline plugged into that.
I checked the router this morning to check if i had been disconnected and i had'nt. Also my connection speed has increased to.
If it stays like this all will be well..fingers crossed.
I will keep you informed of any further develpments.

Thanks

Dale
