Anyone had success using SSH on a DG834GT?
Hi,
You all seem like a knowledgeable lot, and I wish to ask if any of you have had success connecting over SSH with the DG834GT?
My router is running a custom (nothing dodgy, I just wanted to add a few apps in without resorting to telnet and wget) version of DGTeam Rev. 0743's 1.02.09.
My N800 (which is also running Linux, so I can debug on that side if needed) has openssh-server 4.7p1-12 running on it.
My computer is running Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows XP, the ports for ssh are all correctly forwarded and I'm trying to connect from my computer to the N800 from inside the LAN.
My problem is that in windows and linux, when I put in my N800's static ip, it will connect and ask me for the user name and password and when I put in the password, the ssh prompt will hang forever. Then about 2 hours later, it will have timed out >.<.
In windows, I was using putty, in Linux I was using GTK 2 Putty and the openssh-client.
I've got the N800 SDK and 1.02.09 toolchain setup, I could compile a utelnetd for the N800 and openssh for the DG834GT (and strip it down a lot :/, I'd probably use dropbear instead) and see if it occurs with that, think it's worth it?
