Are .cfg files compatible between V1/V2 routers ?

Not been here for quite a while so sorry if I've posted in the wrong area.

Does anyone know if you can take a backed-up "netgear.cfg" file from a V1 white Netgear Sky Router and apply it to the newer V2 Netgear router (or even the Sagem) ?

I'm only referring to the normal "netgear.cfg" file you would obtain by going to the "Backup Settings" page, not any of the .cfg files containing hidden info using special hack tools.

I'm just curious if I can get a newer model router up and running with a customised pre-prepared profile from an old router, rather than starting all over again.

I can't try it for myself as I don't have access to the new one yet.

Thanks for any help,
Tony.

Very unlikely that a Netgear file would work with a Sagem router. Possible that it may work between V1 and V2 Netgears but I wouldn't bet on it.
