Re: BT iplate

Don't run away with the idea that the I-Plate and the ADSL filter faceplate are the same thing or do the same job, they are not!!.
The ADSL faceplate from whatever source does the job of the I-Plate as well as filtering your wiring so is by far the best buy.

Re: BT iplate

A BT-Iplate is only any good in the following circumstances.

(1) If you have a NTE-5 master and you have fixed wire extensions and are unwilling to remove the ring wire/s from the faceplate (the ones that connect to "3")

(2) The I-Plate works if you have a plug-in extension, with the ADSL filter at the other end. In this case the I-Plate will filter the ring wire in the extension.

(3) The I-Plate cannot be used with any other type of master socket.

(4) The I-Plate is not an ADSL filter. If you are using a Filter faceplate Like the BTv1 or an ADSL Nation XTE-2005, you do not need a BT-IPlate.
If you use Plug-in micro filters you will still need these.

(5) For a BT-Iplate or a filter faceplate to work, it is most important that all your extension sockets are wired from the master socket faceplate, so check that all extensions are dead (no dial tone) when the test socket is exposed. If any or all are still working there is no point in getting an I-Plate or filter faceplate untill your internal wiring is corrected.

If you mean an ADSL filtered face plate HERE Others are available, but I have not used them so cannot say how effective they are.

If you mean an iPlate, forget it, it is a waste of money.
