Exclamation Noise Margin dropping as a result of network activty

Hi there

I have an intermittent connection issue with Sky Broadband, so far over the last 9 weeks, I have had 1 BT line engineer, 3 BT Broadband engineers and various support calls - the current of which is sitting with the Sky Support escaltions team in the UK somewhere.

In a nutshell the dropwire, 3 routers (filters etc) and the D & E sides have been swapped out. A "lift and shift" at the exchange has taken place etc.

However, I discovered a disturning problem yesterday when monitoring the line stats.... namely that when I power up a second PC and the NIC kicks in ... the noise margin on the router drops without fail.

I thought that this may be a "homeplug" (as pc's are connect aroiund the house via this medium) or OS issue (Vista), so I booted up my Macbook pro and connected via the routers wireless... and presto the same thing happened.

The noise margin drops from around 8 to 0 and then slowly rebuilds up. This drop may obviously cause a re-sync on the ADSL line - which may explain to some extent at least the intermittent connection.

Does anyone have any ideas?
