v1.03.87 and CU can't connect to PPPoA server

Hi there, I have a bit of a problem here. Recently my sky broadband connect has been running rather slow at times, especially in the evening, even though the sync speed is at a good 7800kbps, I still get timeouts.

I thought this could possibly be Sky trying to make people upgrade so I downloaded the new firmware and also the community tweaked version. My router was running the GaTi modded firmware, it's a standard router that came from sky originally and had been reflashed.

So I used the recovery utility to put the 1.03.87 CU on and it synced the adsl but wouldn't log into the PPPoA server The same happened with the stock sky 1.03.87 firmware. The ADSL details were right as the CU had a button to see them. On the connection status interface it said LCP Down.

Went back to the stock netgear firmware as luckily I'd downloaded that image as well and it all worked fine once I restored the settings file.

Anyone tell me whats up with this?

I'm not familiar with the GaTi firmware you mentioned, but it may have done something odd to the router configuration (for example, changed the VPI,VCI setting). If that was the case, doing a restore-to-defaults would fix the problem.
