Sagem, *reduce* noise margin please

When I got my Sagem router (upgrade) from Sky a couple of months ago, the noise margin would vary from 7 dB - 5 dB or so, and the router worked great with higher download rates than my old Netgear.

For the last few days though, I note that rebooting my Sagem gives noise margins in the range 10 dB - 13 dB and MUCH slower data rates (20% - 25% slower) than I got a few weeks ago.

I listened to my phone line, and it's still clean as a whistle (no crackling, humming, wowing or fluttering, etc)

1) Why is the target noise margin now 10 dB - 13 dB ?

2) Can I SET the target noise margin somehow?

Thanks

can be up to 20 but most are around 5-10...

and don't worry about not knowing - Sky seemed to think it wasn't worth telling customers...

Re: Sagem, *reduce* noise margin please

Well, I've waited weeks now, and my noise margin has increased to 14 dB.

I used to get a full 9-10 Mbits/sec, now I'm at just over 6 Mbps.

What do you recommend?

Can I send a command to the router to fix this?
