Wireless Bridge Advice Required ***URGENTLY*** !
I have a Netgear DG834GT as my main adsl router. Sky sent me another router (Sagem F@ST 2504) after I apparently had fried my Netgear however, I got it working again !) and decided to try to use the Sagem in my office.
My office is in a seperate building and is approx. 20 metres away and my PC in the garage can connect to the network wirelessly using a PCI card however, the signal is non-existant.
I initally tried using WDS protocol to connect both the Sagem and Netgear but found out that the Netgear does not support WDS and to be honest, I am unsure whether the Sagem supports WDS ?
I have considered a powerline ethernet solution however, the house and the garage are on seperate electrical circuits and therefore, this would not be suitable.
My only option now is to create a wireless ethernet bridge. I need some advice on what hardware to use and also any advice if someone has an alternative solution ?
Thanks

If the signal does not reach your office then you need a stronger signal.
Get two of these : BUFFALO WHR HP 54G
I got one of these for a tenna from ebay.
Two of these on your network would easily do a 20 metre connection.

Is there no hacked firmware available for the sagem and the netgear to enable WDS/Wireless Bridge ?

Yes thats the one.
PS a wireless bridge is just a way for a router to act like a pci card. If there is not enough signal then it wont make any difference. You could try making an aerial booster to concentrate the signal toward your office - i have tried this and it works.

Re: Wireless Bridge Advice Required ***URGENTLY*** !
Thanks. I know that the router would only serve as a PCI card however its antenna would probably pick up the signal a bit better than a card which is stuck behind the desk at low level.
Ideally, I want to boost the signal coming out of the Sky Netgear router and also be able to pick up the signal at the other end and I think the best solutions will be to get two wireless ethernet bridges to communicate with each other.
Will update here once done
Thanks

Re: Wireless Bridge Advice Required ***URGENTLY*** !
Maybe this one would be better ?
Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP High Power Wireless G Ethernet Bridge
I think the other one is a broadband ADSL router ?

obviously to remind you, Sky BB is a consumer service and not one to be used for work...using it in an office , if found out, could have you cut off...
