Seriously odd problem with DG834PN

I am using a DG834PN router for my Sky connection and have been having some issues with Noise Margins falling and line dropping, and now I think I have found out what is causing them, but it is too weird....I think it is my Ipod.
It is a 5th gen so no wireless but if I pull up my router stats page and look at noise margin BEFORE plugging the ipod into the external USB powered hub to sync/charge it, my noise margin was sitting at 13-15db, within seconds of pluggin it in that dropped below 10 and within 2 mins it was right down to 2db and line drop.
I know it shouldnt be able to have any effect on the router but I will swear it is, has anyone ANY ideas on this before I check myself into the local nuthouse?

Re: Seriously odd problem with DG834PN

probably a faulty USB hub/hub power supply...if you plug you iPod into the PC directly does it still drop?
