No, there's no known way (yet ) to get the password.

The Sagem has a perfectly good wireless performance so if you're getting problems then it's down to interference (probable) or a faulty router (possible).

Re: Ive done it! Flashed router and got my sky password!

Thanks for all the replies folks!!!

Youre right, I should really have asked here first, but to be honest I just convinced myself that the white netgear was a lump of sh*t, and there was no fixing it.

But, sods law, the other night I found mognuts utility and set my target noise level to 10. OK, it dropped my speed from 8000 to 6000 odds, but I havent had a drop since, and the whole things running so much better!! Go figure eh?

Soooooooo...... I now have an apparently stable netgear V1, and a Sagem router!!! If the netgear stays stable, is there really any benefit of switching to the Sagem? BTW, there is a perfect wireless signal all over the house with the V1, havent tried the Sagem. Any suggestions?

All you can do is try it and see. The Sagem firmware may well be more stable with your line conditions and if so then you'd get your 8meg back. The new V1 firmware, when it arrives, will be similar in performance to the Sagem firmware, though you'll lose the ability to use Mognuts.

GUIDE TO FLASH NETGEAR DG834GT FROM SKY TO NETGEAR FIRMWARE

Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky! Flashing your router firmware

3. Once you have it into the correct state, open the "netgear fw" folder and run RmDrv.exe.

4. In the same folder run UpgradeWizard.exe.
Where is the folder "netgear fw"??? Also what shall I do with the firmware files I download from the netgear site and finallly using this method will I be able to enter a different username and pasword so I can use another ISP to connect to internet using the SKY router??

Its wherever you created it!
Try following this instead. Note there is a later version of the firmware here.

Re: Ive done it! Flashed router and got my sky password!

If I understand your question correctly, yes you will be able to set the username and password for the ADSL after flashing to the netgear firmware.

Also try not to use vista when running the utility or you will probably brick the router. (It may work if you use XP compatibility mode but I haven't tried it)

Re: Ive done it! Flashed router and got my sky password!

Vista runs OK if you right click the EXE and select 'Run as Administrator' Compatibility mode does not always work.

Re: Ive done it! Flashed router and got my sky password!

OK, Ive read through a fair bit of this thread and thought I'd give this a try..

It didn't work, I could get the firmware to flash

I downloaded the latest firmware (dg834gt_1_02_13.img) and the update utility from the Netgear website.

I put the firmware img file in the same directory as the update program.

I ran RmDrv.exe then I ran the UpgradeWizard.exe and followed through the steps selecting the network adapter, which is a VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter. It onboard the mobo and the only port I have.

I get to the end and hit Upgrade and nothing happens, the progress bar doesn't move, it doesn't tell me its flashing it just sits there...

One thing i did notice is whenever I hit the next button in the UpgradeWizard.exe the screens don't seem to change properly, it seems to overlay the text boxes from the first page over all the other pages. I've posted a screenie ...

Can anyone offer an insight into this? My current firmware is V1.02.28.
