I have a new connection and am currently in Line Testing according to my router stats I have good Attenuation but a bad noise level.

I only have 1 socket (new BT Openzone one) with the router and phone fitted.

      Any advice greatly received.

      Thanks HSD

Re: New User Good Attenuation but bad Noise

      DLM is doing its job.

During the day it quietly monitor your line and collects stats relating to any errors. Provided that this is low or non-existent, it will increase your line speed during the early hours (1 am - 6 am) and in so doing the Noise Margin will reduce.

This process will continue until the Noise Margin is around 3dB or the line cannot safely be improved any further.

Typically DLM will complete between 3-10 days. In the mean time leave the router on 24/7 and refrain from power cycling it as this can sometimes be interpreted as a line fault. One or two power cycles is fine, but too many will reduce the potential speed of your connection.
