Major slow speeds on Sky connect !

I've tried putting my router in the master socket, which is in my kitchen downstairs, but when plugged in I can't get a signal from upstairs which is where my computer is.

I just done one of those tests after being well annoyed by my internet and i got this with a supposed 8mb connection

I am having terrible problems, i used to get get around 7mb with no problem, but over the past few week its been rubbish!

here are my stats

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 30.0 db 17.5 db
Noise Margin 9.6 db 13.0 db

and i did a speed test today and got
632 kbs download
50 kbs upload

i have reset the router but no change.

It takes about 2 mins to load this page up!!

where'd you do the speed test? are you wireless?

Conncet via cable and ditch the wireless, with a socket in the kitchen there is a lot going on that can effect it most of all the microwave

Bring the PC down to test it plugged in to the router if you do not have an ethernet lead long enough and if that is the problem invest in a couple of home plugs.

I am wired via ethernet cable and router is pluged directly into the socket, and its the BT mains socket but NOT the testing socket.

You could always try the Test Socket.

this is strange, its seems to be upto 7mb speed now (night time) did a test from this sites speed test??

I seem to be getting slow speeds as well over last 24 hours or so.

Heres my router stats:

Line Attenuation 37.0 db 23.0 db
Noise Margin 13.2 db 14.0 db

Seems OK????

I did speedtest (speedtest.net) and download speed was only about 600kbps

Will try again in later on tonight, see if it improves?? Wasnt downloading anything when tried speedtest.
