Question Will I get more speed?

My line was configured to 15.7Mbps downstream and 1150kbps upstream. Two days ago I requested to be put on DLM again.. Second day in now:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16108 kbps 1146 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.5 dB 9.8 dB
Noise Margin 6.1 dB 8.4 dB

I was DLM numerous times before and the noise margin downstream dropped to 3dB without dropping out and the line attenuation for upstream has decreased from 13dB to 9.8dB. What speeds do you guys think I'll get by the end of DLM, My guess is I'd definitely hit the 17Mb mark.

Re: Will I get more speed?

You are in the area where your connection may not improve a great deal more now. It really depends on whether or not your line is really good. If it is then your Noise Margin figure will drop a little more and the speed will increase.

Sky's target Noise Margin used to be 7dB. After the update earlier this year, DLM will now set it lower where the line quality is good enough to support it.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: Will I get more speed?

Oh I see, thanks. I was told my line can support around 17Mb so I'd expect to get that by the time DLM is over.

Well I checked the stats today and:

Connection Speed 17016 kbps 1146 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.5 dB 13.9 dB

It looks like your line is stretched to its limit. If you don't have too many errors it will stay there.

Re: Will I get more speed?

I think your line is just showing how well DLM works when it is left to do its job.

Re: Will I get more speed?

Yeah! It's to working pretty damn well to say the least! No drop-outs or anything and my connection has been consistently stable since DLM started, I can expect my speed to go up to 18Mb tomorrow, I'll post my stats tomorrow to update you guys.
