      Speed Advice!

Hi I signed up with sky last Dec and my connection was set at 23 meg with getting a speed of between 18 - 21 meg. A few months later my speed dropped to 13 meg so I rang sky and the guy configured my connection to 20 meg (
19995 kbps - that's the highest he said they could set it). Now my speed never goes over 16 meg, so just wondering if anyone knows why this is as my connection went much higher than 16 meg before but wont now.

Technically you were one of the lucky ones getting a 23mb connection. Sky only advertise their Unlimited ADSL package as 'up to 20mb'.

You may get lucky if you call Sky and find someone able to reconfigure your line manually to above the 20mb speed that you now have, but most may refuse.

      Re: Speed Advice!

DLM can configure speeds above 20MB, but I don't think it can be done manually. I'm afraid Sky will say you are paying for 20Mb and that is what you are getting, even if your line could deliver much more.

You may be one of the small percentage of users who are connected direct to the exchange. If so you may have problems if you want to upgrade to FTTC.
