Re: ADSL2+ not always quicker
Hmmm, thats interesting with your att you should be seeing close to 16meg.
Have you tried an experiment with your internal phone wiring ?

Re: ADSL2+ not always quicker
defo got to be a wiring issue with those stats.
You need to try the TEST socket underneath the master socket faceplate.

Re: ADSL2+ not always quicker
I had a similar problem being switched to ADSL2+, whereby my connection dropped. Being switched back to GDMT made it jump back up.
Apparently it has something to do with interference in the high frequencies that ADSL2+ needs or something like that? I guess some lines just can't handle it.
I'm plugged directly into the the master with an adsl nation xte-2005 faceplate, I'm using the shortest possible modem cable (1m) from faceplate to router and I'm connected direct from router to p.c via ethernet. I've basically taken all necessary steps to achieve the best speed but this is the best I've managed to get so far.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 9120 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 29.0 db 17.0 db
Noise Margin 7.4 db 14.0 db
According to these stats though I should be getting a much higher connection speed

Re: ADSL2+ not always quicker
not with that SNR...and the fact you're over 8Mbps on gdmt - which you shouldn't be so whoever re-profiled your line doesn't know what they're doing...
