Sky Connect slower than my old ISP :(

Please can someone help me with this. I'm worried I made a big mistake switching to Sky Connect for the next 12 months.

I used to be with Orange and got speeds of 6.4mg. Apparently my line can handle up to 8mg. Now i've switch to Sky, I should also get up to 8mg, but i'm only getting 1.8mg.

I phoned Sky and they told me that because I have only just joined, the system is still sorting itself out and after 10 days the speed will improve. They said to call back after 10 days if it's still slow. I feel like i've been lied to as I could cancel up to 8 days after getting my router, so if I wait 10 days I can't cancel and my speed won't improve.

Has anyone known their speed to "sort itself out" after 10 days of having Sky Connect?

Re: Sky Connect slower than my old ISP :(

as you are on Connect (a BT product), your line does have a 10 day training period where it tries various speeds until it finds teh most suitable.

This is the nature of the Connect (BT product).

As long as your physical connections on the line are ok the speed should stabilise for you. Can you post your attenuation, sync and SNR stats from the router? Make sure there is a filter on each socket on the line, no extensions in use and if possible plug into the main socket then reboot the router at least once a day.
