Hi guys, new here and just switched to Sky Max from BT, currently running on an extension lead from the main socket and have my router wired into the PC, what speeds should i expect from my connection with these figures: -

Connection Speed 6720 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 28 db 7.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 17 db

Many thanks!

You should be able to get 14-16Mb on SkyMax.

Can you get your stats direct from the test socket behind the master faceplate.

Re: Just switched to SKY, what speeds should i expect?

Your upstream figure would suggest you're ADSL2+.

Your low speed is due to a line fault, most likely your home wiring (probably that extension), hence the earlier request for a test socket connection comparison.

Re: Just switched to SKY, what speeds should i expect?

Well that's pretty definative then, your internal wiring stinks

Now all you need to do is sort it out, fit a filtered faceplate to it and then run the router from it.

Just think, all those linux distros at full line speed. You'll have nothing to download after a couple of hours.
