Yep call em and if they tell you 10 day grace tell them you are on the wrong package and that is why the speeds are set the way they are, if they are in doubt tell them to ask a SU.

Re: New Connect package speed issues

I have the same problem. I have just gone with Connect and my speed is only 160! I phoned Sky and they said to wait the 10 days and if it doesn't change phone them back. I have just recently changed from Virgin to Sky, thus, having to switch back to BT.

Re: New Connect package speed issues

It really depends on your router stats whether it is the same problem or not. Take the stats from your router, first from the normal position then from the Test socket, behind the master faceplate. If you do not have a Test socket, unplug everything from your extensions and take the stats from your master socket instead. Post both sets of stats.

Re: New Connect package speed issues

When I was on the phone to Sky about the speed problem, we tried it in the socket it is currently in and the master socket and both sockets said a speed of 160. He thought that maybe I would get a better speed if it was connected to the master socket but it was exactly the same.

Re: New Connect package speed issues

It does not really matter if you are plugged into the Master socket, faulty wiring, even if it is new, will still cause problems. The only way to eliminate these is by using the Test socket. Please post your stats by clicking Here put admin in for the username and sky for the password. Click the Show Statistics button and copy and paste the results here.

Re: New Connect package speed issues

This is related to issues with BT's database. If a line has no dsl speed record the BT order system defaults to the 250k package with sync speed of 288k up and down. Give Sky tech a call. They can sort this in about 24hrs. Just a matter of requesting a move to IPStream MAX port. Quick and painless.
