Post you detailed stats as you did before.

Did you get the screw problem on the master socket sorted out?

Re: Router says one thing but speed test sites say different?

Can you check that you are actually on Mid? Your downstream rate seems to indicate that you are on Connect which will require different treatment.

If you are on Mid, the noise margin of 23.9 dbs indicates that you are very heavily capped. You should phone Sky and ask them to lift your cap, as you have improved your wiring. It could be problems on the line in the past have caused the cap to be imposed but it looks as if your line could now stand a bit more. This does not apply if you are on Connect.

If you are on Connect, you will have to ask Sky to ask BT to investigate your speed. It looks like your line may have trained to the wrong speed and been profiled incorrectly.

Re: Router says one thing but speed test sites say different?

i called sky on saturday & they ran a line check. my line seemed fine.
I asked about the connect package & they said that im on connect as the sky equipment isnt in my exchange yet but that shouldnt cause this problem.
They hasve sent me a new router (black sagem one) which i plugged in about an hour ago. it hasnt cut off yet (touch wood) whilst on the phone.
im still noticing though that its syncing at 2496 but online tests are showing 100kps. any idea on how to get detailed stats? normal page wont load up.

Re: Router says one thing but speed test sites say different?

I think you will have to get back on to Sky. Your line is probably fine, the problem is with the exchange setting. Try this first-
Go to BT Speedtest enter your phone number then your ADSL username. This will do an official BT speed test and show your present profile. Your ADSL username is <the MAC number of your router, no colons, followed by> @skydsl You can also obtain this from the router by using one of the utilities available on the forum. This tester is always busy, it could take several attempts to get on.

You should be able to use this report when phone Sky, but it will depend on who takes your call as Sky T1 do not seem to be trained for Connect customers. If you can get them to pass you to the CST, they will be able to assist you. If they refuse to put you through to the CST, use the KANA Form it may take a bit longer but it will eventually get to those who know what to do. Copy and paste the result of the Test into the form and they will get an idea what is wrong.
Your line profile may have been set too low and may have to be adjusted by BT. It could take a few days, as Sky have no control once they pass it to BT.
